Overview

Bend High has a strong environmental club with many students involved in planning climate strikes and protests, bring your own silverware campaigns, Earth Week events, local events for middle and elementary school students, and more. The club has also educated voters on local and federal candidates and their past voting regarding environmental bills. The Design Justice class–based on activism and advocacy–has addressed sustainability-related issues and made long-lasting change. In addition, the IB Environmental Systems and Societies class offered at Bend gives students an opportunity to learn about Earth and sustainability. The cross country team has done several trash pick-ups during their practices to clean up the campus and the areas surrounding it, and individuals at Bend High have also done their own clean-ups of the campus.
